Clinical Privacy Framework

Privacy Policy

How Adjunct Medical protects your personal and clinical information in compliance with Australian healthcare standards.

Last Updated: April 2026. This policy applies to all users of the Adjunct Medical clinical portal and associated specialist services.

1. Commitment to Privacy

Adjunct Medical is committed to protecting the privacy of our patients. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and manage personal and clinical information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We treat your health data with the same level of care as a physical clinical setting.

2. Types of Information Collected

We collect personal information necessary to provide specialist medical services. This includes: (a) Identity data (name, DOB, gender); (b) Contact data (email, phone, address); (c) Clinical data (medical history, current medications, allergies, symptoms); (d) Diagnostic data (pathology reports, blood panels); and (e) Government identifiers (Medicare number) for clinical verification and e-prescribing.

3. Methods of Collection

Information is primarily collected directly from you via our secure patient portal. We may also receive diagnostic data directly from our accredited pathology partners (such as Sonic Healthcare or Healius) where you have provided consent for results to be shared with Adjunct Medical clinical staff.

4. Use of Personal Information

Your information is used strictly for clinical purposes: (a) To establish a medical baseline via specialist review; (b) To coordinate telehealth consultations; (c) To facilitate electronic prescriptions through licensed pharmacy partners; and (d) To monitor your ongoing treatment protocol for safety and efficacy.

5. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell your data. We only disclose information to third parties essential to your care: (a) Registered AHPRA medical practitioners; (b) Accredited diagnostic laboratories; and (c) Licensed Australian compounding or retail pharmacies. All partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and Australian health privacy laws.

6. Data Security & Australian Residency

All clinical records are encrypted at rest using AES-256 standards and secured in transit via TLS 1.3. Critically, all health information is hosted exclusively within Google Cloud's Australian data regions, ensuring your sensitive data remains within Australian borders and subject to Australian legal jurisdiction.

7. Access and Correction

Under the APPs, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if the data is inaccurate. You can manage your primary profile details via the 'Settings' section of your dashboard or contact our Privacy Officer for a full clinical data export.
